I smell chemicals in my room for the past 2 years and no one else does?

Hi, I am 15 and I have been smelling this horrid smell for a while. It started out as a smokey smell, and now it is this really harsh chemical smell. It smells like pool cleaner, chlorine, bleach, mayonnaise, and something really harsh that I can not explain.

Here is the weird part- NO ONE else smells it. Not one person, they all think that I shouldn't be complaining... so nothing has been done about it. I'm really at the end, I just can't take it anymore.

Another strange thing, I only smell it when I enter the room, and then it fades after about 30 seconds, and there seems to be no source. Oh, and sometimes, if I have been gone for like a week or the weekend, I won't smell it when I come back until like an hour later.

What should I do? I might just have to move out and move with my grandma... but I really don't want to give everything that I have up to move just because of this smell.

It's not a little annoying smell I'm complaining about, it's very harsh and it makes me feel sick sometimes.

Seems to be chlorine-related smell. Do you also have irritation of the throat, nose, eyes? Is it something to do with how your clothes are washed, or your sweat or something you do in your room?

Maybe you could shake out all the things in your room and vacuum it thoroughly - wear a nose filter or surgical mask, it might make a difference.

Invite many different people over and see if anyone else can smell it, but if you are truly the only one who can smell it, then move out.
