Do you want to change the world?
Bob Marley said, "One man walketh and a million man it sparketh"
Do you feel driven to try to make the world a better place? What are some things youve done to try to make a difference?
Im talking about the economy, world hunger, the government, anything you are passionate about fixing. Do you have any websites or suggestions on how people can help?
daisy,
I m so glad to hear that my question inspired you. You remind me of me when I was that age. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't make a difference or that your work is pointless. If you can only make a few people happier or healthier( it can be as simple as saying thanks or giving inspiring words) then you have done so much. Don't feel unimportant because nobody gives u an award. You do make a difference. I wish there was a forum for people like us to compare notes.

your words are inspiring and its so wonderful that u are focused. Fundraisers are agreat way to raise money for a new shelter. We really need more shelters. You seem to be interested in animal physiology, have you thought about starting a shelter for disabled or abused animals, you could help animals that would normally be put asleep. You could come up with an online adoption program, where someone pays so much a month to adopt a specific disabled pet. For thier donation you could send them pictures and updates to thier profile and you could have a live web cam on the common area of the animals so people can tune in and see what the animals are up to. Keep up the good work and spread you message of helping by listening to your heart to anyone that will listen.

you just perfectly summed up the conversation that inspired this question. Its true, little will change without some revolution. What little things could individuals do to curb the evils of capitalism? one thing we can do is use our spending power wisely. If a company does something immoral or screws u over, don't do business with them anymore, no matter how inconvenient it is. Tell the CEO or manager why you won't do business with them anymore. Tell everyone who will listen what they did thats wrong and that you wont do business with them. If you are able, take legal action, even if it is a lot of work and the monitary gain is not worth the hassle, they will think twice about their policies or about doing the same thing to someone else. You know the problems, Think of other things you can do to help. U can make a difference.

History clearly shows us its 's not the politicians who solve our problems but we the people who finally bite the bullet and demand change. Want to end war? Hunger? Save the planet? End currency.End religion. Have a justice system that is based in healing, restoring and understanding life. Not one based on fear mongering and punishment. And lastly, have an educational system that is voluntary as opposed to one that brainwashes each and everyone of us and is eerily a lot like jail. oh, but wait..... cant do that... no one makes a profit.

Yes. I'm passionate about fixing the way the world sees and treats animals. My real dream is to open an animal shelter in my boyfriend's hometown (the nearest animal shelter there is miles and miles away)
For the most part, I've done all I can do: study, and learn. I've been studying various animals (snakes, newts, salamanders, cats, dogs) in part, but mainly I've been focusing on dogs. I'm memorizing the skeletal structure of a dog, then I will go onto the organs and organ placement. After that, animal first aid until a qualified professional can come on scene incase of any emergency. I'll be hopefully getting a job soon so I can save up for the Animal Behavior College.
The only suggestion I have on how people can help the world is do what feels best. Do whatever feels right in your heart. If you're betraying your heart, you're not helping the world, you're harming it by betraying yourself, and when you're trying to do something as big as fix problems in the world, that's the worst thing you can do.

Yes, I have wanted to help those who live in poverty ever since the 5tg grade when I bought a tee shirt made by Omni Peace or something like that. The tag on the shirt talked about the poverty in Africa. A portion of the money spent on the shirt went to those in need there. Ever since then I have been inspired. I'm now a freshman in High School and my goal in life is to join the Peace Core. At the moment I hope to help build houses volunteering with habitat for humanity. Thank you so much for posting this. I've been caught up with drugs lately and you opened my eyes back up. This will be a big motivation for after I go to treatment to really stay clean afterward. Seriously, thank you. You may have just saved my life.
