MTV movie awards: Twilight deserved to win ?
So some people think that twilight didnt deserve to win. But i think that is totally wrong, if there fans are that loyal to vote for them, doesnt matter if they are little girls they are still fans, vote non-stop. The move had the most votes so it deserved to win. and it was a good movie, i know a lot of people would agree with me, they just dont want to become a twilight die hard fan like some of us (; so twilight deserved to win? yes or no ? Say yes... (:

Well, you're clearly not interested in my opinion, so I should probably just fake it like the others and hope to get Best Answer. But this has to be said;
First of all, it won, so it definitely deserved to win under the circumstances. Case closed. But it certainly wasn't the best movie nominated for the award. Let me explain; this has nothing to do with fandom. It has nothing to do with devoted fans, for it's not a popularity contest. An award is about giving credit where credit is due. People love Twilight. But here's the thing; that doesn't make it a good movie. What makes a good movie is the ability to tell a story well. Twilight doesn't do that. It's full of plot holes and meaningless dialogue (that's what I love about them). For example, like having Jacob carry Bella into the forest in the middle of a snow storm to protect her for Victoria's army in the third movie. Why not just have him take her to a hotel? Or a friends house? Oh, I forgot, she treats her friends like wallpaper. But I digress. I get that things like this doesn't matter to you. And if you can look past it, that's great. The more things we like, the better. I mean, I can try to explain why, but I'm not sure it's going to matter.
Well, yesterday, I mentioned the wedding scene. And by the wedding scene, I meant the entire sequence leading up it, which lasts for one entire third of the movie. Not a single line of dialogue in that sequence other than "I do" pushes the story forward or has any impact on the characters. In other words, poor storytelling. They get married. Jacob eventually shows up and once again states that he's against their relationship. You know, the same speech he's been giving for the past three movies. They then travel to Carlise's wedding present to Edward; a private island. You'd think a thing like that would come in handy when you've got hundreds of hungry vampires trying to kill you, but again, I digress. There, we get to see important scenes like Bella getting dressed and then undressed for, well... "it", and how she's all upset because someone forgot to pack her special undies. Oh, no! The horror...? Anyway, somehow they do it, despite the fact that Edward's heart isn't beating and thus he shouldn't be able to get an erection- BUT I digress. And I haven't even gotten to the really stupid stuff yet.
Am I getting through to you? No? OK. Well, this is how someone like myself saw this movie; as a bunch of filler to make up for the fact that the story lacks substance. They get married, they do it, Bella gets pregnant, baby turns out to be a monster as Stephanie Meyer tells every teenager that abortion is wrong. Even when the pregnancy is sure to kill you. We then spend half an hour watching Bella suffer and completely ignore her friends who are just trying to help her. Even Jacob, who's sacrificing everything just to keep her alive and yet she just says "no". What really bugs me is how she can turn to her husband and say, "look, I don't care what you think, but this baby, who is definitely a boy, is going to kill me and you are going to raise it. Better start saving, 'cause this thing's gonna pop out any day now...". And that's probably the number one reason people hate Twilight; Bella is an insecure, manipulative whore. Constantly sending signal to Jacob that there's still hope, you just gotta do this one thing for me but then going back to Edward for seemly no reason other than male dependance... and what makes it worse is that she has no personality to back it up. Here's a challenge for you; going strictly by the movies, name one of Bella's interests. Or something she likes. Just one thing. Oh, and it can't be Edward or Jacob. Have fun. you see, this is why I keep commenting on the time. Because they spend all this time on mundane things that has no relevance to anything and yet they can't spend a single minute to establish Bella as a human being. And that is poor storytelling. Again, I'm not saying you're wrong for liking it or even defending it, but it is a bad movie and there are reasons other than our gender for why we're not falling in love with the story. Which of course can be found in pretty much any novel in the harlequin section of your local library.
I don't even know if you're going to bother to read all of this, but if you did, thank you! And I hope this at least show you that there is another side to the story.

If MTV gives their awards based on number of votes, then I'm not at all surprised that Twilight won movie of the year for the 4th year in a row, because MTV's current audience is basically nothing but 12 year old girls. Especially if any person is allowed to vote multiple times, those girls will just sit around for hours voting on some movie they won't even care about in 3 or 4 years. But if MTV actually had a panel of judges who have even the slightest clue what a good film is, then Twilight shouldn't have been nominated for a single thing. I know it's easy to hate on these movies, and I'm not jumping on the Twilight-bashing bandwagon just for the heck of it. I honestly gave the first 3 movies a chance, and they were terrible. Bad story, no character motives or development, very poor character models, weak special effects, terrible acting, awful dialogue, and cheesy cinematography. Hollywood has really gone to crap lately, but I can easily name a dozen movies each year that deserved to win over that years Twilight installment.

MTV awards has lost its which means. The final truely just right film to win was once Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King in 2004 MTV awards. Critically, the truth that Twilight appeared to have received everything itself indicates how stupid they've come to be.

HELL YES! Twilight is an awazing series! Both movies and books. If you look at the other nominee's it's clear that a wonderfull , fluffy , non-comical movie deserved 2 win. If the fans are loyal , y not give the prize? I loved all 4 books and the movies. Although i think BD is much better than new moon , and slightly better than eclips. It's a lovely true hearted tale without pethetic humour or ppl humiliating themselves.

Yes, I agree. I think the Twilight movies are some of the best, if not THE best movies of all time

See, the thing is, a lot of girls just went on and voted, non stop, which doesn't mean that it's more popular. It just means there's more people with way too much time on their hands.

twilight fans are teen and younger girls who have no concept of what makes a good movie. twilight is not a good movie. more likely the case is you have never seen a good movie in your life.
to an adult, a teenager watching twilight is no different than a child watching barney.
