Why did the guards on the back of the carriages in London today have on different shades of Gold uniforms?
I noticed the color difference in the uniforms of the Guardsmen on the back of the Queen's carriage today and wondered why.

Probably because they weren't made at the same time, therefore you won't get an exact colour match. Also, daylight can bleach colours so if one outfit has been worn more than the other, that could explain the different shades. The uniforms were taken from existing stocks, they weren't made just for the Jubilee.
