In the wild, Bettas are solitary fish. I would put them in a 20 gallon to be on the safe side. Even though they can live together, but 10 gallons would be a little cramped. If need be, just have a lot of foliage so they can keep their space from one another. If you want a male and 2 females, not really. That would take a 70 gallon or more, I wouldn't chance it.

Good for you for upgrading him to the proper house. I endorse corries for associates. They stay on the bottom. You might divide it and use it for 2 Male Bettas. They need 5 gallons a section so it will be ultimate. Nonetheless don't think that they don't like various space. Mine is in a 50 gallon neighborhood tank and LOVES it. And yes they're suitable with different fish just no longer Male Betta's or other bettas or fish that appear like betta's (guppies and the equal).

No. You need a 20 gallon for a female bettas whom need to be in a group of 6+. Also, this is hard to do since you need to introduce them all at the same time, and have 5 gallon tanks on the side in case any of them do not work out. Do not do this unless you KNOW what you are doing.

You can put multiple females together in one tank, but you can't put a male with a female or a male with another male. However, you can put a male with other fish that are the same size or smaller, as long as they don't have long or flashy fins.
If a male and a female are together, after they breed, they'll fight, usually to the death.
If you put a male with another male, they will fight to the death over jealousy. It's the same if you put a male betta with a fish with long fins, such as a molly. (I know it's not possible due to temp change, but I can't think of one right now 'cause It's 3:30am, lol)

Females need to be housed in groups of 5 or more, they are still aggressive (though not as aggressive as males). Keeping them in a larger number helps to spread out the aggression instead of having one or two that are constantly bullied. Sometimes females are just too aggressive to be housed in a sorority, so it depends on their personalities as well. I don't recommend keeping a sorority in anything less than 20 gallons, anything smaller and they will feel cramped, causing more outbreaks of fights and injury.
Males tend to constantly chase the females when housed with them, but again it really depends on their individual personalities, aggression levels, and amount of space they have. In my honest opinion, NO, you shouldn't house any of them together at this point. You need more females and a much bigger tank.

Male fancy Betta splendens need to be housed singly. They can't be kept with females. Sure some people have had that work but it's a ticking timebomb and won't work for everyone, especially in a tank as small as a 10g!
Females can be housed in groups but a trio is not a big enough group. They have a strict heirarchy in a group and in only a trio one will be potentially singled out and killed. They really need to be in groups of 5+. You can just about fit 5 small females in a 10g provided there are lots of plants and places for them to hide from one another. And make sure you don't accidentally end up with a short-finned male!

3 females would be ok but not a male and a female. If not conditioned to breed the male will kill the female. Even when you are breeding bettas the female is only with the male for a short period of time.

That is all very well possible, if you have no problem with torturing animals. Fishes and birds are NOT pets! Fish needs the open space of the sea/lake/river and birds need to fly. Is that so difficult to understand?

A sorority (all females) of three would be fine as long as you had good hiding spots in the tank. Females and a male isn't recommended as after they have bred there will be conflict, as well as so many fry you won't know what to do with them.

well not really two male bettas will fight till the death
you could try 1 male and 1 female betta im not sure if they will breed though make sure they are on there own in the tank no other fish or you could have 1 bettta and 2 platies
