If I were killed while walking down a dark street in Florida...?

while wearing a black hoodie and carrying some skittles and a can of tea, would the media give it the same amount of coverage? Would the African-American population throw demonstrations and protests?

By the way, I'm white.

That kid made moves that *anyone* would interpret as being the attempt to access a weapon. Personally, I would not have opened fire until opposing deadly force was *implemented* (IOW, a shot was fired at me), but I was not there.

Too bad the story you give really wasn't what happened, because there was no iced tea, no skittles found, and he was shot at point blank range and had gunpowder residue on his hands from where he had his hands on the gun when it went off. But otherwise, no. There's nothing Sharpton and Jackson could use to further their racist agenda.

Both black, brown, yellow and white people need to stop the THEM and US thing.

    A person's behaviour is their own. No excuses...no bull$4it.

No matter what happens to someone else...How you react to it is YOUR behaviour and is YOUR responsibility. YOU are the one to BLAME. No one else. NO EXCUSES

STOP blaming others, the law, the system, the cow that jumped over the moon. Be responsible for your own actions. Respect is a two way street. You can't demand it if you are not prepared to give it.

2 white men where killed in Florida in the last year.

The assailant was black..he was found by police, charged, then had a trial and then sent to life im[prisonment. No problem from the Afro-caribean community.

The difference was he was found and a trial occurred....Zimmerman should have been sent to trial, whether he is guilty is upto the court and jury to decide, not the police.

They were upset because Zimmerman was released. Oh and by the way, I am white and I was ticked off by that, as were lots of white people I know. This had NOTHING to do with race and everything to do with an unarmed kid being killed by a wanna be cop.

The street Trayvon Martin was murdered on was not a dark street. The sun hadn't even set yet.

Get your facts straight before you launch into your racist fears.

We really need to let this go and stop feeding into this race baiting game. It's time for America to unite again, so we can fix this country.
