What should i do for this migraine?

Had it on and off for the last 2 days..starts off as a little pressure on either side of my head going from my neck to behind my eye. After a while either side of my head/face starts with a burning sensation. Eventually at its worst it makes me feel really nauseous. It doesn't actually make me sick to my stomach but if I let it then I think I definitely could. I've had migraines before and have taken aleve with pretty decent results but because of stomach issues i can't take that anymore. I scheduled an appointment with yet chiropractor for later today hopefully she can give me some relief..

It will be short lived if at all with a chiropractor. Migraines are causes by tight neck muscles. the muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your migraine. The nerves for your eyes go to the back of your head passing next to the neck muscles. When the muscles are tight they can press into the nerves to send pains back to your eyes. The tight muscles can also press onto the nerves leaving the spine that go around your head to send pains to those areas as well for the pains in your face. The tight neck muscles are pressing into your throat as well to put pressure on your gag reflex area to make you feel the nausea you have been having. To get rid of migraines you have to free up the neck muscles to release the tight ones causing the pains and if they aren't too tight to warrant in house care here's how to free them up yourself:

    Neck:

Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle, behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck extended (lowered) for another 30 seconds.

For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

It really helps if you cut out MSG from your diet for a bit. Also drink lots of water. I usually take ibuprofen that does help. And also massaging your nose right were it meets your eyes makes it feel pretty nice. Good luck.
