Transparent Background Help?!?

you can use photoshop or gimp. you can use a couple of different methods depending on the type of pic that you wanted to use. if you have a very different background color than the part of the image that you wanted to keep you may want to use what is called the fuzzy select tool. this tool allows you to select colors that are close to the color your selecting in a large area. if your background has multi colors you will have to use the free select tool and manually select go around the whole image and select the background. when you go to delete the background you will also have to color it to alpha. this gives it the transparent effect. the images that your are talking about can be called vector graphics and are saved in png, or gif format most of the time. if you want it to look decent i strongly suggest you find a board and have someone edit it for you. good luck.
