Is it illegal To ask for the death of a person?
over the internet on say facebook. And what is the statute in Michigan?
No like saying "someone should kill that person". You took that in a totally different direction than what was intended by the question. A completely unrealistic direction might I add.
I am aware that it is a crime I want specifically to know the law so that I may read it. To settle a dispute between myself and another person who seems to think that it's covered by the first amendment which is retarded since you can't use your free speech to infringe upon another persons rights.

Solicitation to murder, conspiracy to murder, or making a death threat, are definitely serious crimes.
Stay away from such comments. Court's have recently been very inconsistent as to what constitutes a crime. If you make a comment that can be interpreted as inciting someone to commit a crime, the subsequent death of the person might make you a co-conspirator, even if you had no connection to the perpetrator what-so-ever and did not actually intend for the victim to be killed.

To verbally state you think a person being tried for a heinous crime should be executed as a result of due legal process is a statement of personal opinion.
To request the commission af a crime would be wrong, but I do not think it is illegal unless a reward for the perpetrator of that crime is offered.
The request is immoral and unethical, but not illegal by any laws I am aware of.

well it depends on what you mean
if you said on line for all to see, could someone please go round to this persons house and kill them,

To "ask for the death of a person"?
Like, "Hey, can I kill you (or so and so)?" No, I don't think it is. Kinda dumb, though.
