can you insure a provisional driver on someone elses car? if so, how?
i want to start learning to drive in my partners car, he's already insured on his car (obviously), can i insure myself on his car, or do i have to put myself on his car as a provisional driver?

Car insurance follow the car. Usually when the car owner gave you permission to drive, his third party liability will cover you if you are the driver.
However, that does not cover anyone on a provisional licence unless you have informed the insurance company. so he need to call his insurance company and ask.
It is always better to have a formal driving instructor to teach you how to drive
