To socialists: what is a "social dividend"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_dividend

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism#Market_soci...

I am trying to understand your point of view better. I was reading through "Market Socialism" on Wikipedia, the article claims that "Social Dividends" aren't taxes and aren't a form of welfare, but to me it seems like they are. If the government take profits from a company isn't that "taxing"? If the government decides to give that money to people other than employee's or investors and gives the money away to "those in need" isn't that welfare? If I completely misunderstand the concept please explain, also I know Wiki isn't always accurate, so please let me know if the article is wrong as well.
