Removing grandfather clock weights?

The weights in my grandfather clock are in the wrong places. The right weight is on the left, the center weight is on the right, and the left weight is in the middle. Could I remove them myself or do I need to call a pro?

I believe they either unhook from the chain/rod on the bottom or on top they hook into a hole. If not the bottom use a small mirror and a flash light and look at the connections on top. It should only be about 1-2" where you can't see. It's easy if I remember right:)

You don't need a pro. Carefully lift them up, they'll unhook and then you carefully replace them. The important thing is not to pull on them. Good luck.

You might need someone to help you switch them. e-how.com has directions on changing the weights. Be sure to wear light gloves when you do this.
