Is this a good car idea?

I'm a huge fan of sports cars especially Japanese ones. I'm 17 and I've been driving over a year now and I wanna move up in the automobile world. I have ideas of cars of course but I don't know if I can afford.

How much would the insurance be?

What if I pay towards my parent's insurance?

What cars do you recommend? I'm looking in the 1990's primarily

Good on gas mileage?

Reasonable street price?

Worth it to customize? Like the cars on Fast & Furious.

Here are my car ideas in order:

1. Nissan 300ZX, possible Twin Turbo (Z32)

2. Nissan 240SX

3. Mazda RX7

4. Mazda RX8

5. Toyota Supra TT

6. Subaru WRX-STI

7. Honda S2000

8. Mitsubishi Eclipse

9. Mitsubishi Lancer EVO

10. Honda Civic

I will add a list now these cars on the list may vary in price where you live also some may be high insurance to you also some may be hard to find but overall they are cars used in the Japanese tuner and modified scene.

MPG wise sporty cars you are always going to struggle and most run on a high octane fuel also to higher your fuel bill.

Also these cars cover different generations so you can also check previous years on these cars which also offer a good car and maybe cheaper.

    Modded and Tuner.

cars that are WAY over your price range im guessing and expensive to fix: 300zx, rx7, rx8, supra tt, subaru, wrx sti, s2000 and the evo. and you will probably get a speeding ticket in those for sure.

the 240sx is in my mechanics opinion a bad car and the eclipse i don't have good experiences with. if i were you i'd go for a civic si or a integra gsr if you want something with some performance. and don't rice the cars out whatever you get. if you do not know how to work on the cars then leave the engine alone maybe some good rims that aren't cheap and look good. im unreasonable as hell too about looking for my new car too and a manual transmission will make the driving experience actually worth it. and a rough estimate on what is most expensive:

    supra tt

    wrx sti

    rx8

    300zx

    rx7

    s2000

    evo

    the reasonable ones

    eclipse

    240sx

    civic

Get some thing with 4 seats, a rough high, and gas effective. At your age that is the high-quality factor, trust me. I had an '02 Toyota MR2 Spyder and ended up hating it and promoting it after a couple of yr. Unless that you would be able to find the money for a excessive finish automobile (which as a primary vehicle is by no means a good concept) go for a fine chick automobile like a Scion TC. If you wish to have some thing sporty, comfy, and extremely safe, go for a Honda Civic Si. Not a race auto, but it's quick, sporty, nontoxic, and gas efficient. My buddy had one, if i would not of bought my SRT-4 once I did then I traditionally would've long gone for an Si easily for the remedy and first-rate. I am now not into racing anymore...

well to make it short and sweet,

any car with a sporty name will cost more to insure

Ex.( i have a fully loaded 09 pontiac g6 "base but looks identical to a GT. if i had a GT i would pay more on insurance just because it says GT.)

they think its a sporty car and faster so people are gonna kill themselves lol

as for gas, well if you get something fast or powerful your gonna have your foot in it.

i just got rid of a 99 jeep GC with a v8 and it had an exhaust system and sounded good so i always had my foot in it lol. but also if it has alot of mods like a turbo and nitrus or what ever it will drink more gas than a non supped up alternative.

the others i cannot answer because im not that much into foreign cars so i have no idea of prices.
