Stitching cross stitch ( 3/4 stitch )?
I am just starting cross stitch, I've only done a little kit with full x's so far and have been wanting to try a larger project. But it started mentioning 3/4 stitches and half stitches, I've been practicing the stitches. But how do I know which direction to make the stitches? ( that little stitch in the 3/4 stitch )
What I mean is, how would I know if the little part of the stitch goes bottom left, or right, or top left or right? Does it somehow have anything to do with the symbol? Hope I haven't confused anyone but I can't seem to word what I'm thinking.

3/4 stitches are useful for filling in a pattern shape, or changing colors on a chart. You would follow your chart for the correct placement. Here's a website that explains the different common stitches:
