Which app is best for making calls using wifi?
I want to be able to call my girlfriend from my droid 3 to her cell phone without using any of my mins. I want to use wifi. I know we'll both have to download the same app. but I want to avoid a bunch of trial and error by using the advice of the yahooawnswers genius community! So, to recap, wifi on my end, 4g on hers, an app. that let's me call her (and texting would be a bonus)

Skype, it's free if you're calling from skype to skype. If you're calling skype to homephone/mobile it costs money. You can talk on skype too + video chat.

Dylan took the words out of my mouth . (not sure if texting is included for free, but talking together is so much better.) Skype is your answer.
