I have a movie I own. How can I transfer it to my iPad?

Question

I have the new iPad, and I'm (obviously) not very good at using it yet
So please be patient :)

I have a movie that I own and I want to download it onto my iPad. It's in my PC now and I have the cords running to each of them. Now what do I do?

When I go to 'copy' it, it just gives me: ipad (then i click) then is says internal storage (then i click) then it says DCIM. that looks like a pictures folder. do i save it there?

It is near impossible to watch movies online for free or at least is safe and virus free as there are server costs and such that need to be paid and they have to make money somehow to pay them. Allot of the free sites do so nefariously to pay them.
