Will The Wii U controller work on the old Wii?

The Wii U Gamepad WILL NOT WORK with the old Wii for 2 reasons...

1) The Wii U Gamepad runs on a newer (& higher) version of Bluetooth -- which means that the Wii U can support the Wiimotes & Wii accessories on the newer version, but NOT in reverse.

2) The Wii isn't designed to stream video to the Gamepad.

As a result, an attempt to do so will completely fail.

No, it will be to advanced for the Wii to handle. On the other hand the old Wii remotes will work with the Wii U. :)

Well, if the Wii was forwards-compatible with the controller, then Nintendo would've already been producing the Wii U!

No it does not, because the controller is not designed to work with the original Wii console, please remember the Wii U controller is meant to work with the Wii U console itself.

of course not, new tech rarely works on old stuff. You will be able to use all your wii controllers on the wii u tho.
