What are the most important words to know in a foreign language?

I just asked this for fun. In your opinion, what are the most important words that everyone should know in a foreign language? For me, I think that "I don't understand," "I'm hungry," and "Where is the bathroom?" are the most important! What do you think?

For me, "where is the bathroom" is the most important one, lol. :)

I think "I dont' understand" and "I'm hungry" are both easily pantomimed and easily communicated without words, so they aren't on my top list.

Maybe the question words are the most important.

"What, where, how many and who" would be hard to get across without talking. So, I pick those.

    Oh, and "what time"

When studying a brand new language, I feel it is great to begin off with the elemental vocabulary (I, you, he, she, and so on.) then transfer directly to elementary grammar utilizing the ones elementary phrases. It's well to begin out with foremost terms like "Good morning" or "thanks" or "Do you talk English?" on account that they're simplest to gain knowledge of and have a tendency to be essentially the most valuable for rookies. Then, because the useful grammar turns into simpler and extra usual for you, you'll be able to both choose to transport directly to extra elaborate grammar laws or to broaden your vocabulary. Mind you, your sentences may not be too ingenious or various in case you stick with vocabulary that is too elementary to your degree. You can not gain knowledge of grammar accurately and not using a little bit of the language's vocabulary, however vocab will best be a mindless jumble of phrases with out grammar. Since you look to have already started constructing up your vocab, I suggest performing some grammar sporting activities to toughen what you've got found out. Take it from any individual who is been there, performed that commonly, you'll finally put out of your mind such a lot/the entire phrases you found out if you do not observe them in significant sentences.
