To understand the meaning of life is to forget the meaning of life.

Then too, there can be freedom from all the mundane things in life.

Live as though everything of the past dissolved yesterday and,

All of the future begins today.

If you could accomplished this, you are a person born anew'

A person of virtue and happiness !!!

when you say "meaning of life", it means that you are asking what the purpose of living organisms is. After all, only living organisms have a life. In that sense, everything in life has its own place. Animals exist to serve our existence (God as well of-course), and we exist to serve God. All living organisms are bricks in a building; the building is our universe. As for what the purpose of humans is in our universe, it is to serve, protect, and maintain our good beliefs/morals. Although many people have now been side tracked from what our original purpose of life is/was, the goal still remains the same. Much more can be said but I will top it off with the fact money is only a necessity to live and should not be the center of our world.

Yes I think that life for repeat offenders is good.I mean cause most of these murders could have been prevented if the killers would have stayed in jail. I can relate to the victims families. My friend was killed in 1997 and they have no leads. An I know sometimes the jury lets them off but come on if the guy or girl killed more than once you know hes going to do it again.

You can never define the meaning of life. We should continue living because, although we are very small, each and every one of us has the power to change the world.

We had this debate in class once with a professor. We arrived at two possible answers.

    1.) Life had no meaning.

2.) The meaning of life is to be happy.

I go with the second :)

There is no inherent meaning to life; we define our own goals and create our own purpose.

This is out greatest burden, and our greatest gift.

It is a burden because there is no universal plan for us. No fate, no destiny, no storybook ending. Any meaning we perceive is only one we invent. No one's ultimate goal, whether it's to make money or serve God, is more correct than any other.

It is our gift, because we can invent whatever reason we want. We are not like cogs in a machine, built to fulfil a function. We can define ourself and our purpose.

Actually, we are spiritual souls but we are in human body.. we are from spiritual world. God has sent us on the earth...only for self realization.. as our souls are not as pure as, they have to be... So God has given us human life where our body feels happiness as well as suffers pain. Therefore, we souls are here... to achieve... the level of purity..... To become pure soul.... we should make an effort to understand the deeper meaning of unconditional love for all living beings.... in every situation....

In my opinion the meaning of life is whatever we decide it is. This is because our perception of life, our life experience is based on a made up education. We describe everything with language, something that we made up so we could communicate. I understand animals have body language and forms of their own communication, but that is the label we put on it. I guess what I am trying to say is that everything exists without our description, without our definitions so maybe our questions don't always have an answer. It is merely a coincidence that our questions have answers. This argument over faith and religion being irrational is in itself irrational to me. This argument that faith is made up is quite weak, the same could be said about science. Science is just our observations articulated into the language of science whereas religion does the same job. They both give our perception through a learned and made up education.

So life is whatever we decide it is. The 'we' in this case is optional but seems to provide an explanation of how we have come to recognise what we see in science as real versus what we see in religion as questionable. It seems to be that we decide what everything is by way of agreeing. We decide darkness is darkness, nobody disputes it because we all have labels to describe the feelings we associate with darkness. We could change the name of the colour if we associated the colour with the same feelings.

    1) Life is about perspective

    2) Our perspective is based on our own made up system of communication

    3) What we describe life to be, from our own perspective must be that because we are merely applying what we have made up (and define as knowledge) to our experience

    4) Therefore life is what we decide it is because the definition of life is human based

    5) Everything is subjective therefore we must be free to determine for ourselves what we believe is worth knowing. I mean gravity existed before we defined it, but now that we have defined it we are 'better off'. I mean people fell over without the knowledge, they fall over with the knowledge - the only difference is that we have now decided we know why.

I guess what I'm really saying is we may can never be wrong in defining something new because it is only in our opinion that things exist in the way they do. So if we die and observe the 'meaning of life' we can describe it as what we want. Until it has been described and acknowledge, we cannot be wrong.

humans live because of many reasons. there is no definite answer for this question. many people have different reasons to live. some live for love, some live for God, some live to contribute to this society. but all have a purpose, but it varies. above and below me are answers that people go by because they believe in it. if you ignore those beliefs you hold now and think about others, there are many reasons why we live. but humans are of a higher intelligence than that of lower animals. we could rationally think and feel and understand. we could choose this path or this road, there is not definite answer for your questions. by this, we could choose to live. or we could choose to die. some unfortunately, choose to die. we have choices and open paths that we could take. we naturally feel that we have some significance to society, and we were born with the understanding that we should continue to live useful lives. from the start of ancient civilization, everyone was believed to have an importance in the world. and those who unfortunately beleive they don't have reasons to do the opposite, to die. but we never know our fate after death. maybe some believe it is better after death and some believe not. this is all based on your beliefs and how you choose to view the world. some are religious, some are not. but this is the glory of being human, there are varieties, there are choices and there are differences. wouldn't it be quite a boring life to have everyone around you think like you, talk like you, have the same interests as you... the beauties of being human is that nothing is definite. so your question, has no definite answer, but it is open to many answers from the views of different people.
