Why the HELL did Call of Duty go into the future?!?

What the hell? Are they TRYING to alienate their already disappearing older fans? I wouldn't be surprised if the franchise becomes Teen! The hell?? WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY DO THAT? I am DONE with them... Go back to COD 4, WAW, even MW2, and start over. Thoughts?

Update:

Oh yeah, and another thing, Modern Warfare 3 actually took place in 2017, so how in HELL did technology change so drastically in 8 years?!? Walking tanks? Freakin hell.

Cal of duty died during black ops imo so yes going back to COD 4 WAW and MW2 sounds like a great idea

They did it just to piss you off. They had a meeting about it and everything...

In all seriousness though, they did it so they didn't wind up making the same stale rehashes of games they have already made. If you like playing the same boring stuff with the same weapons over and over, go for it. Not all of us are that easily amused however.

And technology changed that much in 8 years or whatever because it's a video game. If you think anything about CoD was realistic beyond the names of some of the weapons, you're crazy.

The same reason they went to the past in almost every other game. Because there is nothing interesting going on in the world currently that can fuel a decent war-time game. I think it will be alright, but if not you can always make a Facebook status about it...

I'm glad they are going with a new avenue. Lets be honest here, what's the difference between COD1-4 & MW(s)? Nothing. Nothing at all.

Poorly planned decision to verture into further ideas from developers teams. But if not to careful Activision could harm it's universe with this nigh-science fiction(that's what it looks like) if you ask me.

@Will I enjoyed black ops,so I don't think it ended there but I bought MW3 and played up to level 40, and I wasn't enjoying the game at all with its spawning, guns, and overall community. At least black ops had zombies if you disliked multiplayer.

They better not make another COD similar to it

    - People complain that COD games are too similar to each other

    - Treyarch tries something new

    - People complain that it is 'too different'.

There really is no way to please people.
