Magic the Gathering question: Inferno Titan?
Inferno Titan says when it enters the battlefield or attacks, it deals 3 damage divided among 1-3 targets. Let's say I resolve a Titan and choose to deal the damage among three of my opponent's 1/1 creatures. In response, he casts Cloudshift, removing one of his creatures from play. Obviously that creature would be spared from the 1 damage, but would the rest of the Inferno Titan trigger fizzle, allowing the other two creatures to survive? Or would only that 1 damage be prevented, and the other 2 damage from the trigger happens anyway?

A spell or ability only fizzles if ALL of its targets are illegal when it tries to resolve. As long as at least one target is still legal, the ability will resolve and do as much as possible to the remaining targets.

The others would take damage.
When a spell or ability with targets is put on the Stack, all targets must be legal, or the casting/activation is illegal and the game is rewound to before the casting/activation. However, when a spell/ability resolves, only 1 target must be valid for the ability to resolve.

The part with a legal target still resolves.
See Rule 608.2b
So yes, the others are still damaged.

If you can divide it among ANY NUMBER OF TARGETS and she decides to save one of them, the other two will go to the graveyard as she is only preventing damage to one of them.
