Why is the race card being pull yet again with concerns to Obama?

I ask this because I have seen some pretty (baseless) claims. E.g., http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aq1pP... ., Not only has this person made a generalization, one of the dumbest thing anyone can do (Christians, Atheists, &c., come in all races)., but they lack any statistical information to back up their claim.

For instance (According to CNN http://thesocietypages.org/colorline/2008/11/06/14... ):

⁍ Obama received 49% of all the male votes (vs. 48% for McCain) and 56% of the female votes (vs. 43% for McCain). But once you break it down by race, Obama only received 41% of the White male vote (vs. 57% for McCain) and 46% of the White female vote (vs. 53% for McCain).

If it was a Racism issue, the numbers would have been much lower.

⁍ 54% of Catholics voted for Obama (vs. 45% for McCain), although among White Catholics, 47% voted for Obama while 52% for McCain.

This one surprised me as his ethics are contrary to that of Christian ethics.

I personally didn't vote for him, simply because I didn't agree with any of his policies, and I still don't agree with his policies. Yet you have dumbasses who make such ridiculous claims.

I mean Obama has made some pretty racist remarks e.g., Y!A post http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200803... and yet I don't hear many minorities saying anything. I say many, because I have heard few African American conservatives speak out about it.

At any rate, I find the whole racists bullshit to be getting old and people need to grow the hell up. Their are racist people within all ethnic demographies, though most seem to single out only one ethnic group.

Update:

@Shelly that is a very good point.

It has worked so well for him thus far and his campaign is floundering and it's a great stand by. It tugs at the conscience of so many in this country who still feel some guilt over the way blacks have historically been treated. However, as I pointed out to one of my students, to vote for the man because he is black is as racist as voting for the other man because he's white. In fact to vote for a man because he is black means you're not voting for the other guy because he's white.

    It's the same thing.

Also, and this is always my main point to those types of people is to say "You're not supposed to vote because it's a nice idea. you're supposed to vote for the most qualified. You know, that whole "content of their character and not the color of their skin" thing MLK was talking about?? I don't personally care what color our next presiden is as long as he is competent and qualified."

And yes, his ethics are very contradictory to Christianity. I did not vote for him either based on his lack of experience, and socialist tendencies and I will not vote for him this time either.

Pulling the race card is a desperate move of a swiftly sinking campaign. Unfortunately, it works on the very uneducated who buy into these types of lies because it's easier than having to actually take some responsibility for their own personal failures. I know a particular person who lives on welfare, doesn't work, doesn't look for work but is completely capable of working. He said it's because he's been treated badly because he's black and half hispanic. So, he blames all his past failures on people being racist rather than admit that he was too lazy to go out and work hard. He doesn't have a car because of and I quote "racist white folk who won't let him have a fair deal" It's always easier to blame someone else for your problems and that's one reason why the race card works so well on people. They'd rather believe it really is someone else's fault rather than their own.

It's all so ridiculous I can hardly stand it. It has gotten really old.

It is silly of him to play at the Race Card as whilst folks rather vote by way of race then he's going to be out numbered even adding the entire american black and the african-american institution. Now is to be aware of the wanted alterations to be performed after the 700B bailout and the way to functionalise the saving mechanism to create an mighty healing within the economic climate. The American electorate wish to look the truly taking place and the mighty outcomes of movement, for that reason he has to desk his menu of reform to persuade that it's going to difference and can paintings with rapid healing for all sectors. His principal profitable drive now could be to get the white of each events to vote for him even in small majority however shall be a sign of a real American vote casting proper to the complete country. In the following Debate, he ought to throw out his playing cards to blue up the account of crimson to deliver complete trust to the country.

They'll never stop using it because they benefit from it. Obama already won the Presidential position because of it. They'll never cease to keep racism alive and well now that they know how far it can take them.
