Line medics: I have a few questions?
1. What would happen if a line medic got shot while running to save someone?
2. What's the death rate of a line medic?
3. Can females become line medics?
I was just wondering because my dad, a combat veteran, wants me to enlist in the army, so I thought that I could make a good line medic. I'm female, so I can't take up a combat MOS, but I don't get squeamish at blood or unpleasant things and I'd like to save some lives. My dad said it's very difficult as a female to become a line medic, but I'm a REALLY ambitious person.

1: you'd either take cover and treat what you can yourself or you'd have to rely on your CLS to save your life
2: not high
3: no. Line medic positions go to medics who are a permanent part of an infantry battalion. Females cannot hold that slot. You might get attached to a line unit to treat local females but you won't be their "doc" by any means. You can be the medic for an MP platoon or a supply convoy and you might see combat, but you won't be a part of a group out looking for it or running offensive combat operations.
