You do realize, don't you, that the majority of the population of the LDS is out of country? So are you saying that you want those people to financially support the governing of this country? And tithing is personal, not everyone does. Plus those who can't tithe money, tithe in non-monetary ways.

And we already have high degree positions where the position holder is LDS. The inventor of the tv picture tube was LDS. The creator of the artificial heart was LDS. The creator of the modern word processor was also LDS. As was the founder of the first full-service department store. Brigham Young was his name, I believe you've heard of him. And there are still many today that have high education and paying jobs, famous Mormons. com will allow you to see more.

You do know, don't you, that the government actually looked at the LDS welfare system to model their welfare system after. Unfortunately, some of the big wigs in Washington put a stop to it, the LDS system worked too well.

Now I do agree with you on the Hemp. It is very low in THC. And it is a good, renewable source of fiber which can be made into all sorts of things. Ropes,clothes and clothing, shoes, floor tiles, etc. I wish they would lift the ban on it, but lumber big wigs have a large hand in keeping it banned, forget the fact that once our trees have been chopped down, it will take a very long time, if ever, to renew them.

And the LDS Church was not the instigator of the Prop 8 in California. It was the last organization to be asked to join the coalition. And it did not donate any money, it donated ad time. And while some members did donate, some even donated to the 'no' side of the campaign, more members did not even know about it. And LDS involvement was simply about the use of the term 'marriage'. It wanted it to be used as between a man and a woman. The Church feels that Civil Unions or Domestic Relations rules should be changed that gay couples entering into one of those will receive the same benefits as a man and woman who gets married. And that they should be the same throughout the country. Though, within the Church, homosexual behavior is viewed the same as premarital sex and is frowned upon.

Dude, why do we need to attack someone's religion? You should be more concerned about whether or not they can get the job done.

Do you understand how crazy this world would be without any religion? I do not agree with all religions but I do think that religion makes Law Enforcerment's job much easier. Without religion, there would be a lot more people breaking the law.
