Why won't Jesus show himself to us to prove that he is real, even though he showed himself to Thomas and Paul?
A disciple of Christ, Thomas, was a skeptic. He walked with Jesus during his time on earth and physically witnessed with his own eyes certain miracles performed by him such as raising Lazarus from the dead and so forth. However, after the crucifixion, Jesus supposedly rose three days later and Thomas did not believe it was truly him despite being told, prior to the incident by Jesus, that he would rise again in three days. Thomas required physical proof. Jesus allowed him to touch him and feel the wounds in his body to offer that proof to Thomas. Why doesn't god extend the same proof to humans alive today? Those that doubt his existence are no different than Thomas, requiring physical proof and he was a disciple of Jesus himself. If Thomas had been born one generation later, or even living today, he would have burned in hell for all eternity because he would not believe for the lack of physical proof. Paul was born after the death and ascension of Christ. Throughout his life, he did not believe that Jesus was the son of God and even went out of his way to persecute and murder Christians thinking that their religion was a dangerous belief system to practice. Lo and behold a flash of light came out of the sky and Jesus Christ himself appeared to Paul explaining to him that he is actually the one true god. Jesus told him that he was persecuting the followers of the only true faith. From that point on, Paul was a converted Christian. Again, if God was willing to go out of his way to physically prove to Paul that he actually exists, why is this not done today? Why isn't God willing to show those that doubt today the same degree of physical proof? Why should we be any different than Thomas and Paul?
Oh and as for this ''shroud of turin'' thing it has been allready debunked countless times by Gary Vikan and many other people and it is obvious it was made by humans. Sorry, but frauds do not caunt as an answer.
@NDMA
By some strange coincidence many religious people that have near death experience claim to see the very same god they worship. If muslims see allah, christians see jehovah and buddhists see buddha, that really appears laughable to me.

The Christ Pantocrator Icon at St. Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai
In 544 AD, a cloth bearing an image of Jesus was discovered hidden above a gate in Edessa's city walls. Six years later, an icon, the Christ Pantocrator, was produced at St. Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai. Oh, Jesus is going to show Himself alright! How about this: one day ur walking down the street then all of a sudden the sky rips open...in walks Jesus! "For as the lightning cometh out of the East, and shines even onto the West; so shall the coming of the Son of Man be." The sky splits open, I'm pretty sure that will get people to notice. These are isolated situations, that God needed to prove & show something. With Thomas, he represents all the unbelievers who can't believe unless they see with their own eyes. Does Jesus still love Thomas? Of Course He does but Jesus said "Thomas you see, so you believe, Blessed are they who can't see, yet still they believe"! Does Jesus still love all unbelievers? Yes He does. On the other Hand with Paul, God needed Paul on His side now, Paul didn't seek God, Paul was a enemy to Christians. God choose the worst enemy, to convert. So Paul out of nowhere was knocked off his horse, he hit the ground...man down. He didn't know what hit him. He was ill and blinded for 3 days or so, under conviction from God. As Paul was blinded to the outside world, inside God was revealing the truth of the situation, opening his spiritual eyes to God and showing him his evil against God would stop, and God had important jobs for Paul to do. So this man showed up saying "I'm here to pray for Paul". He did, then Paul could see very clear, and He is a Great Man of God. He wrote alot of the Bible. Moral is: any moment, or second God can do anything He wants with anyone of us.

You want proof? OK,
1. Purchase a gun. I would recommend at least a .380 or 9mm for best results, .22 might fail and then your life could become very inconvenient
2. Load it.
3. Put the gun in your mouth pointing upward about 30 degrees (this will assure the medulla will be hit and the results will be painless and instant).
4. Pull the trigger.

We don't have to resurrect the writers of the Constitution to know how they felt on items in their day, God left us laws, Jesus came to explain them and show us how to live. How many times does Jesus have to die? Jesus left us 2 laws one was love God with your whole heart, soul and mind and love one another as you love yourself, in this the whole law hangs. Whether or not Jesus or God exist this is still the best way of life. If everyone followed those laws we would be at peace, if you love your neighbor you won't go to war, steal, or hurt anyone. If you believe in God and don't blame him for religions that he warned us about. Read the Bible it will lead you to the pure picture of God and Jesus. Traditions are what Jesus warned the Jews and Christens about.

Jesus is willing to show Himself to you as He did to Thomas. He showed Himself to me and I am no one special. Jesus has a teaching on this in the book of Revelation. Chapter 3 vs 20 is famous and goes, "Here I am I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with Me. Of course these are metaphors, figures of speech. Especially in Jesus day but even now, eating with someone is a close, intimate thing and Jesus promises this type of relationship with Him if we hear His voice and open the door; but how do we to that?
Jesus tells us how to do that at the beginning of this teaching in Chapter 3 vs:19, which is, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline." This is where Jesus tells us how to recognize His voice and open the door. The troubles we have in our life are often due to our sin, at least on a Spiritual level. In any case, our troubles are Jesus rebuking us and disciplining us. When we recognize that and accept that; that is us "hearing Jesus voice."
If, after we recognize that our troubles are Jesus rebuking us and disciplining us, (that is what hearing Jesus voice means, recognizing that our troubles are sent by Jesus as a rebuke and a discipline) we look through our life and look for areas of frequent sin and then do the work of eliminating or at least reducing that sin; that is opening the door.
So, if you want to see Jesus as Thomas and the other disciples did, look into your life and as much as possible, clean up those areas of sin in your life, you will open the door and let Jesus enter your life in a closer way than the mind can imagine. Of course, also ask God to give you the grace of experiencing some unmistakable experience of Jesus so that you no longer are troubled by doubts. I am 69 y/o. Jesus talked to me using words when I was in my 20's and God His and our Father showed Himself to me many times so that I have not had even 1 doubt about God our Father and Jesus His Son since then. It took me longer to realize for sure that the Bible is word for word (in the original language) true and the word of God. I was not sure of that until I was 40 y/o!
God bless you.

The terms used by the early church may be inadequate to describe God, but the general understanding of the TRINITY, of ONE GOD yet three persons, is Biblical, for indeed the THREE are ONE, indivisible.
Look closely at these Bible verses:
When Christ came to this world, He came "forth from God".
John 16.27,28
"For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."
John 10.38
But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
The Spirit also comes "forth from God".
John 15.26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
And when the Holy Spirit comes, Christ and God the Father are also present.
John 14.16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
John 14.18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14.23
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Isaiah 9.6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 14.26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
As you read through the above texts you should notice that when ONE member of the Godhead comes, ALL THREE ARE PRESENT.
John 14:6

Well, it is my belief that the story of Thomas and Paul was simply made up and that Jesus was not the son of god.

One day the proof will be evident for all to see.
Why not live for that day?
I've seen proof of Christ, as Lord, for myself.
So I'm nobody to judge whose who must go without proof.

My guess would be that, even though Jesus did exist in Nazareth a few thousand years ago, He no longer exists in a condition which allows him to interact with human beings.

". . .This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet." (The Holy Bible. King James Version. Luke 11:29.)
