What does it mean to center yourself?

How do you find your center?

Physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, Why center?

Where is the center of the self?

Anyways, I was thinking about this today. Seems to me, if there's a center to the earth, and a center of the universe, there must also be a center of the self....and there must be a reason for it.

I just don't know what, where, why or....how to find it.

All thoughts, methods or comments totally welcomed.

And I Thank you.

The centre of the Self is that divine spark, the very essence of you and the Universe... it is the same for everyone, we have THE SAME divine spark, but it's everywhere. You might call it God, you might call it any name. It's the centre of everything, and yet it's everywhere. That's the centre of the Self, and your centre... and mine...

You can find it inside yourself, if you truly want to find it... it's there, waiting for you to open that little box... when you open it, you will be amazed... you can't imagine what a wonderful treasure you've had inside, all your life... and without even noticing!

You can also find it anywhere else... inside an atom, in the rain, in the sunlight, in your body and your cells, in Music, in Sound, in Silence... in Love... in a newborn's eyes... in an animal, in a tree... anywhere...

The center of Self is, like the center of the Universe, everywhere. It Is All Center. No matter where in the Creation you may find yourself you will experience it as the center. In that context those ancients were correct when they imagined the earth was at the center. It is not at the center of the Milky Way but it is at the center of the Whole Thing just as every other 'place' is. No 'place' is actually a place at all but a state of being, what things appear as from where on is in their consciousness.

There is a place within every being, a place of utter silence where the vibrations that create sound, form, thought the most subtle levels cease. In that silence the conscious awareness soars. We try to put into words what is beyond words, beyond thought, beyond understanding and yet not beyond the experience of the Self. Weer cannot pass on to those who have not experienced It any real understanding because it is beyond words and ideas. We can only speak of the experience in symbols that cannot encompass the Reality. At best they can instruct or inspire others to seek this Reality for themselves. But why? Because once experienced a being become convinced that This Reality is far more Substantial than that which we experience through the ego/mind level of knowing.

"Be still, and know that I Am..." It is in the stillness within that our center of Being is found.

The search for simple focal points is very natural. Daniel Kahneman's, "Thinking Fast And Slow" touches on this desire based on minimizing glucose consumption by the brain.

There has been great excitement about brain centers for this, and that activity. Then it turned out that most activities are distributed functions. Even though forming new memories is not available with a damaged hippocampus, memory itself is a distributed function.

People keep asking either-or questions, and providing such answers for spectral realities.

Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake in 1600 for declaring that the universe has no circumference, and no center.

    J. Krishnamurti spent his life pointing out the limitations of attempting to use these tendencies for categorizations as strict guidelines.

Yet biology is stronger than awareness, and the brain seeks to minimize energy consumption, so we seek simple answers.

It is more useful to integrate the known, with the unknown, than it is to keep seeking centers that elude, or defining them in a desperate series of lurches like Charlie Chaplin and his hat.Yet that also requires more courage.

That integration of the known and unknown, of the physical center seeking persona, with the non-personal support reality, called environment, is the function of Myoho.

The bible states, that Gods words are like a double-bladed sword. This scripture from 1 John 2; 15-16 states that all that is of this world is not of the Father.

To center one self, they must seek deep within themselves and renounce all things that are of this world and find a truth that centers you who being with God the Father, not this world and all it's bright lights and distractions. Harness all your feelings and seek for truth beyond the teachings of men and you will feel yourself begin drifting towards the center of all things as you truly become one with a loving Father, this world knows not at all. For the majority pray to the wrong God and will never find center except for the side that bonds with this world and this world only.

    16. For all that is in the world, the lust of flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Think about the pride of life. All pride even down to the pride you may cling to connected to even this question you have asked is not of the Father for few truly know him.

If one is balanced on the narrow edge between both side of that double-edged sword, they are on that narrow path few ever find, let alone travel.

It means to remain calm in all circumstances.

We see earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, etc. But the earth remain still after the event is over. It is not bothered about the pin-pricks of people digging it for soil, water, oil, etc. it keep doing its work of rotating on its axis and around the sun

Similarly, if we can be tolerant like the earth, then we are self-centered.

Our heart is our center. If we can tolerate the ups and downs of life like the coming and going of seasons, like the ocean which remains ever full even when the rivers flow into it in monsoon or otherwise.

Now we are finally getting somewhere!

Centering is difficult to perceive without the aid of a Master.

Just for a moment consider the breath...

It functions 24/7. It is always with one.

The breath is that which can transcend the senses.

Inhale that which is pure and good - Exhale that which is but an illusion.

The breath is a pump that allows one to experience the inner-most heart (kalb).

Such a simple process, that is so often overlooked.

Over time this pump will bring one into a state of balance (Centered).

Through profound patience one will be permitted to enter into the "inner heart".....

Within the "inner heart" is the precise location where one will experience being centered and ultimately find total balance.

Posit your self positively in your self and you are the center of your knowable universe. You know it. When you feel negative, stop, center your self again, breath; it helps.

When you know the extreme opposite of being centered, then you know why. If that extreme is too powerful at that moment, get out of there; because the people you are with are not. But, that is not likely to happen, because most people have a way to center again and if not, tell them about it. 'Here's how I center my self to relax', or you could just smile. :-)

I think it means to ground yourself. I think it can be easy to get distracted by all the feelings and emotions of this world good or bad. Just like the earth has energy that can ground you, we too have an inner core that can also ground ourselves. When we pray or meditate or do anything with great focus either as an individual or a group, one of the results of this is this centering or grounding, Consequently, it helps you focus better throughout your day.

The heart space is the center of the self. Get into your heart space to center. In every self, there is a yin and a yang; a right brain and a left brain. There's a division between them (the sword Jesus spoke of in Mt 10:34). The division between yin and yang; left and right is the center. To center, imagine a smile as your inhale, filling your heart space with joy. Exhale the joy into you mucles and that joy seizes any darkness and exhales it out of the body.

Center yourself? I think it means to see your inner self. Meaning, the place ... I don't get it? What are you saying? I will try my best to answer. The place where someone will center themselves will be spiritually alone. It's a place where your emotions and thoughts collide to one another to form peace and comfort.
