Why was a question deleted almost immediately after posting?

He may well have deleted the question himself after a short time. Many people do, because they have little patience and may believe that they will get their points back.

If you know that you will be taking a while to answer something, STAR it, write your answer in notepad or something like it, and then return to the question from your starred question list. That way you know for sure it is still around when you go to answer it. Also, be careful about links in your answer, as they can trigger that same error.

I would say that a Q like that must have been deleted by the asker himself,as a perfectly legal Q would not be reported normally.Maybe he got a correct answer immediately & like many people do,he deleted rather than resolved the question.Sad,but it does happen.

I hate when that happens too. I agree when questions are deleted for any reason they should not be visible and when it's deleted while your answering it would be good if anyone currently answering can still submit it. Then it can disappear so no one else gets caught.

It's annoying, but it happens, and since your focus is not on the page where the content is while you are answering, there is no way you can be informed and won't find out until to submit the answer.

Thankfully it happens relatively rarely.
