So you want an overpriced smoothbore pellet rifle that can also shoot overpriced air-powered shot rounds... but does neither one very well?

You should NEVER choose a gun of any type just because it looks cool. You get a gun, or even an airgun, because it's functional. Looks come after function.

I'd suggest you just get an airsoft gun, and play with it until you wear it out. That's more appropriate to your mental acumen.

IMO, you're talking about spending good money on one of the worst airguns of all time.

The last ones I knew of still trying to pass that piece of junk off, was the Sportsmans Guide and they were selling the Gamo Shadow Express for less than $90.

For an airgun originally priced at around $300, that's quite a drop.

The Viper Express and Shadow Express air shotguns were only "effective" on small pest birds to maybe 10 yards. And when used as a .22 they're horribly inaccurate due to the smooth bore. These guns are a bad idea, poorly executed.

Unless you're just looking at this as a collector piece someone might be interested in 50 years from now as a novelty item. I would spend my money on a good rifle.

That was a good try, but that's a .177 caliber air rifle. the Gamo Shadow Express and Viper Express are both .22 caliber smooth bore air shotguns.

I gave everyone a TU for the effort. Maybe someday I'll see the attraction in giving a TD to every answer. . . . . probably not
