Primary school teacher, air hostess or health care assistant?

What's the best salary? What's the most competitive? If I was a health care assistant it would be in a nursing home. I have a place at university to study primary school teaching in September. My plan A is to be an actress, so I'm going to get an agency and want one of these careers to fall back on, which one would be most suitable? I have 6 GCSEs including English and maths and Level 3 BTEC National Diploma Health and Social Care and A Levels English Language and Drama and Theatre Studies. I have no qualifications in travel and tourism and no customer service experience, and I can only speak a little bit of French. Would working in a nursing home count as customer service experience?

anytime you talk or interact with people at work that don't work there you are in customer service. you would be better respected in health care then as a teacher. i think you also have a chance to make more. but if you want to be with children then go for it

I agree with the above. All actors I know say they spend most of their day by their phone waiting for auditions but they do have second jobs, a man I know is a plumber, a girl is a special needs assistant, you also meet a lot of people who are street preformers. Unless you are real known you will get maybe 2 months at the most work over a year and auditions can be at any time so you need to leave that job quickly if you ever have to tour a production

Actors don't so much need a career to 'fall back on' as a career they can work alongside their acting career - and none of the careers you mention would be suitable at all.

Most actors get no more than 2 or 3 weeks' paid acting work a year - but they still call themselves 'actors' and consider their other work as temporary or just a way to earn money. They just don't tell anyone about their second careers!

You'd need some work you can do free-lance, self-employed, choosing your own hours and days of work.

Most of the actors I know have careers which leave them free to take time off for the occasional acting job, rehearsals, auditions, etc. They have such jobs as eBay traders, aromatherapists, proof-readers, children’s entertainers, photographers, copy-editors, writers, website designers, hairdressers, chiropodists, drama teachers, singing teachers, cartographers, jewellery-makers, ceramics workers, researchers, kids’ tutors, dance instructors, personal trainers, etc.

you may desire to do have a diploma to alter right into a instructor. this might the two be an BA preparation or a diploma in yet another situation accompanied by using a p.c.. or the GTP. There are additionally rumblings that for the period of the destiny newly qualified instructors might might desire to persist with a masters diploma direction. you may substitute right into a coaching assistant without needing a diploma yet as different persons have mentioned the pay is decrease.
