Which TV tuner for laptop with Comcast Digital Set Top Box?
I have a laptop with Windows Media Center. I also have Comcast digital cable coming through a set top box. I am looking for a USB tv tuner that takes the signal from the set top box, and controls it with an IR blaster for DVR functionality.
Which tv tuner fits my desired set up?

Depends what channels you want to record. If you are wanting to record premium channels, forget it. You would need a set top cable box that receives and decodes the signal and then outputs a digital stream. Your present Comcast box certainly will not do that. There is no such thing nor will there ever be one, unless copyright restrictions just plain go away. They won't though. However, there are ATSC and QAM tuners modules that you can use to record broadcast or unencrypted cable channels. You will not have much of a selection of channels though.
