I need to get rid of a bee hive above my door.?
I know you're supposed to do it at night while the bees are sleeping, but do you spray inside the hive then knock it down, or knock it down first, then spray inside? I don't want to get stung, but everytime i go out the door, they chase me ... grrrrrrr!

Are you sure these are bees? Wasp sounds more like it. Bee's don't as a rule build hives.
Search in Google to view what photos they have. Wasp nests are grey... well I'm in S Fla. Go purchase a can of hornet spray. Spray at night(while they are asleep) once it's well soaked break it from the wall with a broom handle; then (if your area permits) light it afire.
If you live in an apartment call your landlord. These instructions are valid only if you are the home owner.

guessing you mean a wasp nest (a hive is a man made box for bees to nest in)...if it is a paper wasp, where you can see the cells, just spray it anytime you want, they will be mad after spraying...if it is wasp with an enclosed nest, you only see the grey paper material, you may want to address them at night, if at all..these can be dangerous to deal with
