Advice on my A Level subjects for Physics/Maths at university...?
Hey, i'm currently in year 12 with subjects: Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology. I get my results in august for my AS results, and i'm currently predicted something along the lines of four A's or three A's and a B.
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what subjects I should take/drop to give me an advantage when applying for physics at universities.
My maths teacher is offering to do further maths for my class next year when I am in year 13, so I will receive an AS level in further maths.
Should I drop biology and take further maths? Or don't take further maths and keep biology as an A level. So my results would be along the lines of:
AAAaa or
or AAAA (optimistically speaking).
Would it be better to have an AS level in further maths AND an AS level in biology if I wanted to take physics or maths at university? Or should I stick to my four subjects, because if I don't take that option, I will be sticking with all my subjects.
So I basically want to know if two AS levels is really worth it, even if one is further maths, compared to having 4 A levels?
Thank you for your time!

My advice:
Take the further maths AS, as long as you have an equivalent number of ucas points the university will be more interested in your capabilities surrounding the subject. Also, you will really benefit from that extra knowledge when doing either physics or maths.
If you took biology it wouldn't be the end of the world since you will have the two key subjects needed to continue down that path (i.e. maths and physics) but the universities are not generally bothered about biology when you apply to do maths or physics. At least in my experience.
Good luck with your decision.
