Pretty much no time limit.
Appellate decisions take a LOT longer than 2 weeks as they require a written decision. Plus, there is no real rush. Either the appeal is rejected and the death penalty stands, or it is granted, and the sentence is modified to life in prison. Either way, no rush as the defendant really has nowhere to go.
