Do you think that microsoft products are becoming worse each year?

Just want your opinion. In my opinion, yes because their products are becoming less customizable, don't give you enough options, the formatting has gotten worse, and its harder to stay organized and get things accomplished. I'm talking mostly about Microsoft Word 2010 and the Windows 7 operating system. But I would still rank Microsoft higher than Apple.

I mostly agree with you. They have gotten worse each year (although some nice improvements have been made in a few areas too, in fairness) but the reason I say worse is because they have become more and more intrusive by getting too involved in anti-piracy efforts, spying abilities, allowing gov entities to develop more and more of a 'commercial' OS, etc. Not listening to users requests for privacy and security too by only "pretending" to have addressed the issue yet not created a product that is safe to use including a web browser from hell. And Yes, less customizable. The Windows Registry is the worst nightmare since the beginning of time. I mean, the functionality of the registry has been helpful and was a Great idea, however in reality it often fails (ever tried to uninstall an application and actually get it all OUT of there!?!).

You mentioned Mac is not higher than Apple but I believe that depends on individual needs.

EXAMPLE: For serious gamers, go Windows/PC. For those who just want to get stuff done and want it to actually WORK, go Apple. For those wanting to get away from Windows' flaws and control, Mac's controlling everything and just have some freedoms and reliability again, go Linux! Again - it is a personal needs/views thing from person to person.

Oh, back to MS - about MS Word - the new Interface is horrible. To this day I can not easily just whip through what I want to do without having to dig sometimes for an excessive amount of time looking for a simple function. For this reason, I stick with Linux as my main OS and OpenOffice as my office app.

I've used Microsoft OS's since before there was a "Windows" UI and I really like Windows 7. (Anyone remember the speediest computer of its time, the x286?) Most of us use computers to get things done and don't really spend a lot of time customizing the UI. As long as most of what we need to use is accessible and remains accessible from version to version, then we're happy campers.

OK, since you mentioned Word and since I absolutely hate Word, let me say a few things. Word is and always has been the least well-organized, least intuitive word processing software on the face of the planet. I stuck it out with Lotus' office suite as long as I could before MS Office finally killed it off. I cannot print to various sized card stock to make invitations, etc. with Word. One would think that the developers might realize that some of us would like to use Word to make cards and invitations that we didn't have to print on 8.5x11 paper and then waste time cutting out "a mano". I asked about this on MS Office forum and got 0, zip, nada, zed, zilch, etc. responses.

Also, what I could do with one or two clicks in AmiPro or WordPro, is buried in Word and takes a search and rescue team to find. The same goes for PowerPoint. I was fairly competent with Excel and Access through v2003. Then the ribbon came along and I haven't used either one of them. Thank Heavens I haven't had to use them but on more than one occasion it would have been nice to be able to use them.

Quite the contrary. They get better all the time. Sounds like your problem is not knowing how to run a computer to begin with. Hard to stay organized? LOL. Hardly. Do you know how to create folders?

I undergo in suggestions in the Eighties discussing with everybody and each physique on close to-daily frequency the sensation i might get in simple terms From watching CNN. It replaced into as though I have been being cajoled into working alongside a airplane that replaced into withdrawing, and being given every time impossible to stand as much as winds of encouragement to help draw me in preserving up. Tiring, yet lower back, impossible to stand as much as in myriad human situation techniques from being Intellectually inspired for the day to turning out to be outraged over the Media's Insipid administration, and on and on. Then in the ninety's i spotted as lots "capability" in the information press and media shops, yet they appeared to tackle a miles extra subtle way of turning out to be the setup for "society" to settle for all that we've been being given. Then 2000 befell, and it went from information and Media withdrawing and securing their regularly occurring "gospel" postion into an entire-on dictatorship in the making. Fleetwood Mac (i think of Lindsey wrote it) has a track, "Murrow delivering His Grave". and that i do no longer think of issues gets extra efficient each time quickly.
