Which Album Took You The Longest To Get Into?
The best album are always the ones that grow on you, so which of your favourites took the longest? Mine is probably 'Kid A' I could see what they were trying to do straight away but it took about ten years before it finally connected with me.
How about you?

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young and Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart. I don't think I've still really got into Trout Mask Replica yet but I seem to be liking it a little bit more every time I listen to it.
Also, Kid A took me a while to get into too as it was such a big change from The Bends and OK Computer.

The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
They had just spilt up as At The Drive-In and I already had Sparta's release Wiretap Scars and loved it. I couldn't dig into Deloused for some reason. Naturally, Televators struck a chord with me but the rest was too ATDI-esque and too spanish for lack of a better description. It took a long time for me to dig TMV. In fact It wasn't until Frances the Mute's single The Widow i went back and revisited Deloused. TO make a long story short, The Mars Volta is one of my all time fav bands to this day!
P.S. I totally get what you mean with OK Computer and Kid A. OK COmputer came out in 1997 and was WAY ahead of it's time. I still have trouble getting into KID A and Amnesiac since OK Computer is my fav Radiohead record.
Cheers!

The Smiths by The Smiths, this album took me so long to get in to (with the exception of This Charming Man) that it strayed me away from The Smiths for a while, and months later I had to listen to Meat is Murder and The Queen Is Dead (both easy listens) to finally go back to their self titled and get into it. I always thought I wasn't used to Morrissey singing or the somewhat dark theme of the album. Now their in my top 3 favorite bands.

One of my favourite albums, You're Living All Over Me - Dinosaur Jr., probably took the most amount of listens for me to get into.
Similar to your instance, I knew what it was all about, it just wasn't clicking.
It's worth noting that this was the first Dino J album I got into. And that they are now my favourite band. Persistence pays off, I guess.

Well to name a couple..
OK Computer by Radiohead, at first I just didn't "get" it. I didn't like Thom Yorke's voice, their music sounded odd and their lyrics didn't do anything for me. I didn't listen to it for a long time, then a few months later, I decided to give it another spin and I absolutely loved it. Go figure.
Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen, when I first got listened to it, I loved the music and lyrics but I couldn't stand Bruce's voice. Still, I loved almost every other aspect so I tried listening to it many more times and his voice finally clicked with me. Nowadays I think his voice is awesome and passionate.

Emilie Autumn - Enchant. The first song I heard from the album was "Juliet", and I thought it was really weird. The more I listened to the songs, I relized I kind of liked it. Now, it's one of my favorite albums.

Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti-House Arrest
it took me a while to get into this band. At first I thought it was weird but it started to get stuck into my head and not in a bad way like a kids pop song..lol
