Is it hot outside today?

I was outside today and the sun looked a bit brighter when I stared at it today. Does that make it hot outside? Only serious answers please.

The sun is putting out the same average amount of energy as always. Reason it looked brighter might have just been due to an unusually clear atmosphere where you live.

    NOTICE:

Do NOT stare at the sun. You'll end up with severe eye damage that could very well lead to permanent blindness.

Not really. The brighter sun may have indicated a cleaner atmosphere, which would allow a little more solar energy to reach the surface to be converted into heat, but other factors are important as well, such as air moisture, types of surfaces, etc.
