Why do people believe that women are automatically more gentle than men? i wish that were the case.?

People assume that because traditionally that's how men and women were brought up. Women were supposed to be gentle and nurturing (housewife) and the men to be tough and a warrior (breadwinner in modern times). But trying to bring people up that way isn't going to change the fact that we're all human and we all have the potential to act like that.

I've never believed that women were more gentle than men. While it is true that most women have maternal instincts this does not stop them totally destroying anything or anyone who tries to do harm to their baby.

You don't explain the circumstances. Women who are raising a family on their own may have to be a bit tougher in the attempt to fulfill both roles for their children. It is very stressful and often determination is all that keeps them going. Try a little appreciation and see if she softens in her attitude.

Women tend to spend more time around women than men do and as a result see what women are like. I can believe that some men beleive that women are (or at least should be) all fluffy bunnies, but I'm afraid women are just people as well.

In general, women tend to be the gentler sex. However, there are exceptions to this rule. It depends heavily on the environment etc. she was exposed to.
