Can DISTILLED water go stagnant?

Just wondering - tap water if stored for too long goes stagnant and tastes funny. Would this happen with distilled water? I know its general condition would depend on the way it is stored, so lets assume it is stored in glass (no chemicals leaching into the water) and in a cool, dark place.

So after say 10 years could I go to my cold dark place, open the glass whatever and taste water the same as the day it was distilled? What would the life be on water stored in this method?

Please if you know, give answers for both with and without a carbon filter.

Thank you.

First some distillers work better than others. Be sure to filter first to get out particulates if you distill your own.

Yes I believe it can go stagnate. If your think you will need to drink this water in ten years, you are better off buying a commercial distiller or have equipment so you can do it yourself. Even a couple bottles and tubing will accomplish this it the sun is hot enough to evaporate the water. Some use solar cooker for this purpose.

You can even evaporate water containing heavy metals and it will be drinkable.

Some suggest adding minerals or ionizing the distilled water to change the Ph level.
