Lost all sound in internet explorer, but it works in firefox and works in windows explorer?

The title pretty much says it all. Sound works in every other application, including firefox, but won't work in internet explorer.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Update:

Also, internet explorer's volume slide bar doesn't show up in the volume mixer either.

Try repairing IE from "Programs and Features" in the control panel. But yeah, stick with Firefox; IE is garbage.

PS: the volume slider might not appear in the volume mixer unless something is currently playing.

Use Firefox or Safari, you will never have problems such as this.
