Can I place a call from my google voice account, but have the call relay from my Google V, to my cell, then to the other person?
This way anyone I communicated with would only have to deal with my cell phone, but I'd still have the convenience of communicating with them both with my phone normally, as well is with from my computer (which I greatly prefer during the times when I happen to be at my computer anyway.
Thanks
Google4 weeks agoI accidentally backfed 48v through an eBike programming cable into a laptop usb slot, now neither of the 2 slots work. Can this be fixed?
The programing cable is for a Bafang mid drive motor, and has a ch340 chip. I backfed the 48 volts through the far right pin, which is labeled 5v on the bottom side.
The laptop still functions but the USB slots are understandably now dead. Can someone tell me what component/components were destroyed, and perhaps even guide me in replacing it/them? I'm suspecting it will involve removing and soldering in a new component/s. Thanks

5 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks2 months agoIf I sell 10g of 14k 4 melt value, will I get less 4 the 5.8g of gold in that 10g of 14k than I would if I sold 5.8g of pure gold?
In other words. 14k gold is only 58% gold, so if I have 10 grams of 14k it would have only 5.8 grams of actual gold in it.
So my question is if I sold that 10 grams of 14k, would a buyer typically pay me the same for that as they would pay me if I sold them 5.8 grams of pure gold bouillon? Because each of them are 5.8 grams of gold.
I'm asking because I'm wondering if I got ripped off last January when I sold some gold.
The price of gold at that time was $1542.40 oz. Here's how much they gave me:
1/10 oz 3.393g Maple leaf coin-$150.50
7.7g 14k-$139.29
3.5g 18k-$82.95

2 AnswersPersonal Finance5 months agoHow to do a search on windows 10, for a file named with a single character. The file I'm looking for is simply named "G"?
The file's name is "G". How can I prevent every single file with the letter "g" in in name from showing up in the results? It makes the search pointless, because thousands of results show up.

Software1 year agoWhen the body produces antibodies, can these antibodies deal with small mutations of their corresponding pathogen?
Meaning if a vaccine for a specific strain of a virus causes your body to make antibodies for that specific strain, if the virus mutates slightly, can those same preexisting antibodies still deal with them, or will new antibodies need to be created even for the slightest mutation? Thanks Steve
4 AnswersBiology1 year agoDoes anyone know of a bluetooth audio receiver that stays on, and doesn't automatically shut down during inactivity or when disconnected?
I hate having to keep turning my bluetooth receiver back on again each morning after my laptop goes to sleep the night before.
Just for clarification, I'm talking about the type of receiver that plugs into the headphone jack of portable radio/stereo.
Thanks

1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 year agoWhy won't my computer read SD cards from digital cameras?
The computer is a modern Asus all in one touch screen model. The card reader works fine with SD cards formatted and written to by other computers, but says cards from cameras need to be formatted.
The card reader is fine, and all the cards I've tried work perfectly well in other devices.
Could it be a software or security issue?
2 AnswersOther - Hardware7 years agoWhat in my question violated Yahoo's guidelines and cost me 10 points?? Question inside?
I was inquiring about legitimate websites I could use to check my credit report, such as freecreditreport.com creditkarma.com, and annualcreditreport.com, so I posted the following question on Yahoo Answers
"What are some legitimate credit report sites"
What about that question could even possibly not meet their guidelines? I didn't read the email until after the appeal period had already expired, so I was unable to get my 10 points returned, but I would still appreciate an official explanation for this from Yahoo staff. Seems like a very poor enforcement system, it's quite common for people to wait well over a week in between checking their emails.

5 AnswersOther - Internet9 years agoIs it technically illegal for a customer to go behind the counter at a convenient store?
This took place in the state of Oregon
Although it may be distasteful/tacky/confrontational etc etc, is it technically illegal for a person to go behind the counter at a convenient store?
Someone I know got in an argument with a janitor at a 7-11, and as they argued with him they went behind the counter and got in his face. They exchanged a few words, the janitor told him to leave and he left. The whole ordeal took only seconds. There is no door or swing gate restricting enterance to the area behind the counter at this particular location. It's an open ended counter, with no signs stating anything such as "employees only." Upon exiting the store he was arrested and charged with trespassing. What are the chances of him getting this charge dropped considering he left after being told to do so by the janitor? Again, I understand that this behavior may not have been the best, but, but was he actually in violation of a law, specifically trespassing?

3 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoWhat can I add to an Herbacide/poison that will make it stick to clover?
As anyone with experience knows, most herbicides just bead up and roll off of clover leaves. Is there anything that I can add that will cause it to actually stick, preferably a household item?

Does anyone know why this is?
Using the same search criteria I used one week ago, the post no longer shows up in their cache.

2 AnswersGoogle1 decade agoWhy won't some websites open via ip address?
Some websites can be opened via entering it's ip address into the address bar or your browser, but others will not, and require a url, does anyone know what the difference is? For example: www.d2jsp.org's ip address is 208.110.65.133 and can be opened using that instead of the url. However, www.ufc.com's ip address is 67.148.147.107, but this ip will not access the site.

2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhen I start my computer the cup slowly keeps going up until it hits 100%, and eventually ends up crashing.?
I'm not putting a heavy load on it either, it just does it, even if I'm not using the computer at all, the cpu will still make it's way to 100% , ultimately resulting in either a crash, or else it just gets so slow and jerky that it's not even reasonable to continue, and I'll have to restart it anyway. Once the cpu hits 100% of it's processing capacity, it stays pegged, never dropping back down again.
Does anyone have any idea at all what could be causing this? I've done several virus scans, with several reputable anti-malware programs, and nothing suspicious ever comes up.
Also, is there some type of free software I can download that will do a system diagnostic on the computer? And perhaps allow me to pinpoint what program/process it is that's putting such a load on it? And/or perhaps a program that can diagnose hardware?
Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWho was the "Frederick Ayers" that General Patton wrote many letters to during World War 2?
It was these letters from which came a number of Patton's famous quotes.
I realize that the name of his wife's father/his father in law was Frederick Ayer, however, he died many years prior to the writing of these letters, so even while taking into consideration Patton's excentric and unique psyche, it seems fairly obvious to me that his dead father in law was not the intended recipient.
I can't seem to find any information regarding this. I discovered that His father in law, Frederick Ayer, had a nephew who's name was also Frederick Ayer, so I suppose it's possible that it could have been him who these letters were written to, but I can't find any information suggesting that this particular Frederick Ayer even associated with General Patton.
Also, another problem is the fact that the Frederick who these letters were written to was credited with the surname, Ayer"S", with an "S" on the end, while his father in law's surname was Ayer, without the "S", so unless this was just a simple misspelling by the author of the source (Wikiquote), this presents another problem.
Given the limited information I've been able to acquire thus far, I suppose that Frederick Ayer, the nephew, would be the most logical choice, but some type of a confirmation would be nice.
Any help would be appreciated

1 AnswerMilitary1 decade agoWhat is the average payout for undercard boxers?
Please provide a source if possible. Usually after an even is held, a list of payouts is soon released, stating the fighter pay for the whole card. Somthing like this would be an excellent source, if someone can find it. Perhaps one of the Mayweather or Pacman events.
Thanks
