02 Sportster 1200c Oil Leak?
I rode my bike all day about 80 miles and parked it in my garage. When i went to my garage to drive it again the next morning i noticed a small puddle of oil on the ground under my primary drain plug. i tried to tighten the drain plug but it is tight and there was some oil on the plug itself. Could it possibly be a bad o-ring on the plug?

could be, but its more likely just a little oil from the breather vents that dripped down from your air cleaner overnight.
as popeye's buddy said, that drain plug is the lowest point on the drive train & oil from any part of the engine will eventually find its way there before it drips off.
could even be a little oil from the street that your front tire threw up under the engine so I wouldn't waste any time worrying about it.
just wipe it off & put a clean piece of cardboard under the bike to see if it continues to drip even when you don't ride it.

The drain plug is the lowest point on the Engine. This is where oil collects before it drips off. It is not the drain plug. You have a leak higher up. Look closely and you will be able to trace it. some talcum powder or corn starch will help you find it by sticking to the trail of leaking oil.
