Just recently my 97 grand Cherokee 4.0 has been idling rough when stopped at a light or stop sign and in park. It drives fine, no hesitation or sputtering. I have noticed that the gas mileage has decreased. I can also smell something that's almost like a sulfur or gun powder type of smell when driving or stopped .It doesn't stall or die when idling, it just idles rough. A check engine light has been on for a while now as well.

I have a 1996 ford f250 4x4 with a 5.8l 351w engine. It runs strong until it is put under load such as going up a hill. If I floor the pedal it will run strong under load no problem but if im just lightly pressing the gas pedal it will sputter and hesitate like crazy, it feels like its misfiring and skipping. It seems to do it especially when the overdrive has kicked in and the rpms are lower. But even if I turn the overdrive off you can still feel the skipping but nowhere near as bad when the O/D is on. The truck also stalled on me a few times in the past two months. I would be coming to a stop sign and as I was coasting to the sign it would just stall and not start right back up, it would just crank but not fire. I would have to wait 5 to 10 minutes then it would fire right up. It is really ticking me off because I changed a bunch of things that I heard could cause these problems. Here is what I have changed: fuel filter, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve, throttle body, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, used fuel rail, new gas tanks (front and rear). I have been dealing with this for months and its driving me insane lol. Please help if you have had this problem and resolved it or if you have any input.

I have a 97 f250 5.8l that i just had the cat taken off of and a new muffler and pipe put on from the headers back and i notice when i accelerate hard or even normal when its cold, it just sounds very tinny almost like a lawn mower. I know it has a new manifold gasket and unfortunately its in the shop right now with a blown head gasket. So could that have been my problem or is it something else?

I have a 1997 ford f250 HD 5.8l and I need new valve covers. I dont need chrome but i am looking for the original painted covers that i have on there now. The ford parts website doesnt have them and all of the auto parts stores only have chrome. Anyone know where to get the OEM covers from?

I just put new fishtail slip on mufflers on my 06 harley FLHXI and they sound a bit "tinny" when i first get on the throttle. Is that something that wil change after they get hot for a while and the insides of the pipes get coated with carbon?

My 97 f250HD started leaking coolant when i got to my house today. I pulled in my driveway and when it shut it off smoke came from under the hood and coolant was pouring on the ground from under the engine. It was driving normally all day and my gauges were all reading normal. As i investigated the problem i noticed it was leaking around the vicinity of my oil filter on my engine block. It is a steady stream of fluid pouring out too. All my hoses seem to be intact so i really dont know why its leaking fluid. My fan has no play in it so i dont think its a water pump. Intake manifold gasket? Broken heater hose? Please help

I cleaned the carbs today on my 96 vmax 600 snowmobile and when i put it all back together and it wouldnt start. I sprayed some fuel in the carbs and still nothing. I kept pulling and pulling but it wont turn over. Then i pulled my spark plugs and one of the plug wires broke off from the boot. so i ordered a new strarting coil. Any suggestions to get this sled started? I only removed the bowls from the carbs when i cleaned them. How do i get fuel back in the lines so it will run?

My 1997 ford f250 HD 5.8 seems to skip only when im driving on the highway up hills. Im not sure if its a tranny problem or an engine problem but its weird. It doesnt happen when driving on a normal street but when i get on the highway and there is a hill you can feel the whole truck sort of jump until you get back on level ground. I just noticed the problem when i put my snow plow on the other day.

My 1997 Ford F-250 auto 4x4 drops rpms when i put it in reverse or drive from the park position on the gear selector. Once i am driving it doesnt do it at stop lights or signs, only when first put into gear from park to either drive or reverse. It also does it when put from drive to reverse. If i dont give it gas it will stall. Also the check engine light will sometimes go on then shut off after a while of driving.

My 1997 Ford F-250 4x4 makes a grinding noise like metal on metal when coming to a complete stop. I recently removed both front tires to inspect brake pads and they seem to be ok and the rotors dont seem to be damaged. The rear brake drums and shoes are all new. The weird thing is, you cant hear the grinding noise from the outside of the truck. You can only hear it from inside the cab.

I have a 1997 Ford F250 4x4. After completing a turn from a stop light or stop sign the wheel will not go back to its normal position on its own. I have to keep pressure on the wheel to keep it straight or else it will pull in whatever direction i just turned the wheel. Is this just a matter of a wheel alignment?

I have a 1996 Yamaha Vmax 600, it moves along just fine until i go to give it full throttle. I could be moving along giving it 3/4 throttle and as soon as i pin the throttle to the handlebars, the rpms drop until i let off the throttle. It operates perfectly at less than full throttle. What is causing this?

I have a 2002 Harley sportster 1200c and just installed new handlebars that required longer cables. I have the new brake line installed and have bleed the front brakes but the brake lever is not building up any pressure like it should and the front brakes don't work. Is there a trick to making them operate properly. The lever is making contact with the master cylinder plunger and there are no air bubbles in the line.

I have a 2002 HD 1200c and it seems whenever i ride for a while and the bike gets hot it is difficult to shift up from first to second gear. It mainly happens after riding on the highway for a while then once i take an exit to get off the highway to go to a more city like area it is difficult to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. All of the other gears from 2 and up shift fine. I also notice when i first get going when the bike is started up for the first time of the day, as i let the clutch out to get moving the bike jumps forward as thought it slams into gear. But once i get moving it's fine. Do I need a clutch adjustment? Anyone else have these problems?

I rode my bike all day about 80 miles and parked it in my garage. When i went to my garage to drive it again the next morning i noticed a small puddle of oil on the ground under my primary drain plug. i tried to tighten the drain plug but it is tight and there was some oil on the plug itself. Could it possibly be a bad o-ring on the plug?

Are the stock rear shocks adjustable?

I have been told that if you go to the Fredericksburg VA civil war battle site and lay down with your ear to the ground, you can hear the sounds of the battle like the cannons and guns firing, men screaming, etc. Has anyone else heard of this before?
