Gixxer 750 first bike?

1) The CC's of a bike has NOTHING to do with seat height or the ergonomics.

2) Do you honestly believe just because you weigh a little more than average for your height a lesser displacement motorcycle will not be able to accommodate you? It doesn't work that way. My buddy is about 6'2" and 260 and rides a Ninja 250. No noticeable performance is sacrificed.

3) At 17 years of age the best thing you can do is buy a beginners bike. You don't have ANY road experience. The R6 is an absolutely wild bike. And oddly I'm sure I actually just sold you the bike with that sentence but before you run off to buy one... The R6 was my first bike but I was 28 with experience. The bike was fine when I was just cruising down a back road. Then I wanted to "punch" it (when I say punch it I mean respectfully accelerate a little faster) and the bike started screaming and took off. I was absolutely shocked by how this bike went from mild to over the top and uncontrollable in the matter of a TINY flick on the wrist. With the seat being high and the handle bars being so low I couldn't control it. I didn't crash but it scared the crap out of me. In hindsight I should of bought a lesser displacement bike. It would of been more comfortable, I would of saved more money, and I wouldn't of started off being intimidated by it. I ride my R6 no different than I would ride a 250.

NO 600cc (or larger) 4-cylinder super-sport is even close to being suitable for a novice rider, and your physical size has NOTHING to do with it. "Mature enough"? At 17--and a half, even--you are NOT mature enough, but that ALSO has nothing to do with it. Are you SKILLED enough is the question, and the answer is obviously NO.
