Should I get invisalign?

I'm 19 and looking into getting invisalign braces to close a few spaces and straighten out a tooth. They told me I would need to wear them for five months. Do you think it's worth the money? Are results generally good? I've heard of people not being happy with their teeth at the end of their invisalign and needing to do it for longer so just trying to see if anyone has had experience with this! Thanks!

Everyone is different, and each person's teeth react differently. The ones who had a longer treatment probably would have had the same experience in metal braces. My Invisalign treatment was expected to take 12 months but it only took 5 months. There is no definitive schedule. It all depends on your teeth.

Keep in mind that the 5 month timetable you were given is probably just for the movement of the teeth. You then wear the last tray for an additional 6 months to keep the teeth in place. Then you wear it at night as a retainer.

I was very happy with my treatment, but you must be willing to follow the directions to the letter to get good results. That includes wearing them 22 hours a day, brushing after every meal and snack, no sugary beverages, keeping the trays clean with denture cleaner tablets, and committing to wearing your retainer when the treatment is finished.

Friends of my who have had invisalign were not as responsible with it since it comes off, so their teeth went back to being crooked. My teeth are still straight after having my metal braces off for 3 years.
