why do so many people find hyoyeon ugly from snsd but find yoona prettier?

It's just personal taste. I think Yoona, Tiffany, and Jessica are beautiful; Taeyeon, Seohyun, and Yuri are very pretty; Sooyoung, Sunny, and Hyoyeon are pretty but not as much as the others in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love SNSD and I like every member for different reasons but I don't think they're all gorgeous. Sooyoung, Sunny, an Hyoyeon to me are just fairly pretty. If you like the exotic types I can see why you find Hyoyeon pretty, though. I'm Asian, so my idea of beauty is like that of most of SNSD's fans. And it's not that Hyoyeon is considered ugly by everyone in Asia. SNSD is one of the best looking girl groups, so it's hard to stand out. Even if I think Hyoyeon is the least pretty and Yoona is the most pretty it doesn't mean I don't like Hyoyeon, or that I think she's ugly. It just means relatively I don't think she's as pretty. Most SONES would never call Hyoyeon ugly, they might just say least pretty. And even if they think that, isn't it better to like someone for their personality and talent rather than for their looks? I like Hyoyeon because she's a great dancer and she's hilarious. I don't care about her looks. I love Yoona too, because she's modest and cute and a good dancer. If she wasn't the prettiest in my opinion, I would still love her.

Because most fans of SNSD are in Asia. Yoona fits the Asian beauty standard perfectly. She has the ideal face of every Asian - big, cute eyes, very pale skin, v-shaped face, good nose, good height, and it's also all natural beauty. Yoona's "v-shaped face" is the ideal face type for all Asians, and Yoona has it naturally, so they call her a goddess.

Hyoyeon doesn't match the Asian beauty standard. However, internationally, the most beautiful ones are considered to be Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Hyoyeon (and Jessica).

I don't think Yuri is pretty at all. Her face is boring, bland, etc. but she has the best body! In Asia, Yuri is one of the prettiest because she resembles Yoona a little, so she fits their standard.

Yoona is my bias from SNSD but not because I think she's the prettiest, I love her personality. When I first got into SNSD I played favorites with Yoona being first and Hyoyeon second. I later found out that Hyoyeon was often called ugly which I didn't understand. I thought she was beautiful and still do. I think most people said that because her eyebrows were a bit thick but it never mattered to me. I absolutely love her. Of course, now I don't pick faves and love each member equally. I think each member is different in their own perfect way. Each member has talents that some of the others can't match up to which make them their own individuals. If it comes to the prettiest member, my sister often asks me who I think is the prettiest, but I can never decide. I think every member is beautiful though they all have flaws, but I can never dislike a member or say one is ugly. Often times my sister, who is seven, will come in my room and go to my SNSD poster. She loves Hyoyeon and thinks she's the prettiest out of them all (she even thinks Jessica is ugly).

Are you not Asian?

Well, probably because I'm Asian, when I first discovered SNSD, I thought Yoona was the prettiest. Why? Because of her long straight hair, big eyes, and her height. Hyoyeon, the thing about her was her odd nose. But she's attractive though. I think the main reason why is because hyoyeon didn't look like korean but Yoona did. I also find Jessica very pretty too. I think it's because she has a unique pretty face.

Let me just say that Hyoyeon didn't really go for plastic surgery. Of course, most would dub her as ugly. At first, I just thought that her make-up was thick. Even my mom said that her features were quite nice. To me, she's just unique. Although she reminds me of a fox, for some reason.

As for Yoona, well, she's not unique. As you've already stated, she's pretty plain. I'm also pretty sure she only has doe eyes because of plastic surgery, since her eyes in pre-debut photos looked a bit weird. And, well, she gains more attention for being pretty because she's the face/visual of SNSD. (She actually looks like Yuri, so I'm not sure why Yuri is pretty to you whilst Yoona is just plain.)

I think it's preference. Taeyeon is the prettiest to me. Yoona has a look that is considered ideal in Korea and some parts of Asia and she is also considered a natural beauty. She doesn't look like she's had alot if any ps and she looks pretty with little or no make-up on (ex: Nana is my bias in AS, but there's a big difference between her makeup and no makeup look whereas Yoona looks more or less the same). SM always gave Hyo crazy hairstyles and outfits and had her in the back all the time until recently. She was really underrated, but I think now people are seeing how pretty she is.

Yoona is the most gorgeous member to me along with Fany.

A lot of people hate Yoona because she's the face, and gets the screen time.

People say Yoona isn't unique, yet I think she's got one of the most unique faces. I believe Yoona has one monolid on one eye, and one double-eyelid on the other. Which if I'm not wrong is pretty unique.

Yoona isn't a plain jane, I believe that's an excuse, that people use on Yoona just because she fits Korean Standards.

IN SOUTH KOREA, KSONES LOVE SNSD BUT.....they don't pay attention to Hyoyeon. Most of surveys are in Korea. Hyoyeon doesn't have more fans. And ths is the reason why!
