The "Fasting" diet? Does it work?
I googled some different types of diets earlier and one in-particular caught my eye.. Its basically fasting all day, until dinner, where you eat a normal meal. It said that this method forces your body to use fat during the day for energy.. I am overweight, i weigh 220 and am 5'5".. Im not wanting to get super skinny or anything like that, i have had 2 kids.. One is only a month old.. My goal is to lose 30-50 lbs and just be a little healthier overall.. Im joining a gym in a couple weeks.. I cant do the whole 6-8 small meals a day, i just dont have that kind of time.. My question is, does this type of "diet" work?? and What are the best exercises to burn fat quickly?

You are really in a tough boat. It is so easy to eat that food your toddler just refused. That is one way so many parents add extra calories.
Only eating once a day will result in regular fatigue as you deal with young children all day.
To be direct if you can't make the commitment to prepare 5-6 small healthy meals for your day the gym will be a waste of resources as well.
80% of weight loss is diet. You don't need to get crazy at the gym, get sore, and quit. Something as simple as 30 minutes of brisk walking will result in faster weight loss if combined with a whole fresh foods diet.
It is a commitment my dear and fad diets always fail - because they always end.

No it doesn't work. Your body is made to go into what people call "survival mode." When it thinks you are starving, which is what you will be doing, it holds on to your body fat. I don't eat those small meals either. Honestly I eat when I'm hungry and I still lose weight. I've just been making smart choices. If you are going to a gym, I recommend using the elliptical trainer from 20 to 45 minutes. It works the most muscles and is easy on your joints. Then do some strength training exercises 3-4 times a week. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn and you wont bulk up. 30 minutes to an hour after you work out, try to get 20-30 grams of protein in

as you said you have a 1 month old baby if you are breast feeding him, normally you'll eat more. if you are planning to eat less you should know it shouldn't affect your milk quantity and quality ( vegetables are good for both losing weight and producing milk) . 2nd point, breakfast is the most important meal of the day you can't skip it other wise you'll have a lack of vitamins and that will open a door on many other problems; overweight is the smallest of them. you can have your normal meals with less fats. well internet diets are not guaranteed, they are self experienced, so they would not go with all bodies. you should ask a professional to give you a good diet that goes with your body. jogging is perfect to lose weight. walk from 1-2 hours a day .. good luck :)
