How can I get a copy of my car door keys without the original?
I bought a used car and it DID come with the wireless remote to lock/un-lock the car doors and trunk but I don't have an actual key to open the doors and trunk. Having a physical key would be really nice since I don't want to worry about having the remote suddenly not working and get locked out of my car.
Note: Sometimes the wireless remote doesn't even work properly! I tried a new battery and everything!
What exactly do I need to bring if I have to take it to a dealership or locksmith?
EDIT: Do I HAVE to take it to the dealership it was bought?

You can go to whomever or to whatever dealership you want as long as it is the same manufacture of the car you bought for instance Ford, GM, etc, etc. But any GM dealership can help you on this!!!!!!
If you go to the dealership, if you take your car in for service like an oil change or some other deal, you really dont have to prove ownership since you drove the car there & they know you own it. Just tell them you want a key fob and/or a key or 2 made for it while it is there. This will bypass the other way.
If you just walked in wanting a key, you will have to prove you own the car, the title has to have your name on it & both have to match(Title and your drivers license) So you will need a copy of your title & drivers license

Take the VIN code to the dealership of the car parts counter. They'll be able to fix you up with spare keys and a new remote key fob.

main dealer can arrange new but will need car reg a d proff of your identity. they will look up VIN number on their system ( better still take car in ) and can have a new key and fob etc supplied ( sadly not cheap)
