Any suggestions on a blurb for my book?
Well, basically, I've planned a book down to characters, plot and main scenes. I've written the introduction and then the start of the next chapter.
The story is set in post-apocalyptic Egypt, where a young Pharaoh who is powerless and just a messenger to the Gods lives. The story revolves around the young Pharaoh (Chike), his best friend and guard, (Abubakar), his family and a person he thought was his friend but is actually a Judas-type by the name of 'Husani'. Chike, who is secretly homsexual, (known by his friends), is drinking after a tough day and meets a male beauty by the name of 'Geb'. Geb is the male equivalent of Cleopatra in Acient Egypt, and the two are instantly drawn to each other on a physical and spiritual level.
Here's the blurb I have come up with, and I really don't think it draws people in at all:
"In post-apocalyptic Egypt, the last thousand beings of humanity live under the Gods who see them as pure of soul. Amongst these thousand people is one of the powerless Pharaoh’s, Chike. Join Chike as he juggles life and love as well as serving under the Gods in this mythological and spiritual tale of passion, betrayal and, ultimately, power".
So, if you have any tips, changes or suggestions that you think might help to improve the blurb, than it would be so appreciated if you could tell me. Thanks to anybody who looks :)

In blurbs (unless it's a kid novel), you should probably avoid the "Join Chike" thing, so here's a suggestion you can use!
"The year is (insert year here). The world has been laid to waste, ravaged by years and years of disaster and war. Those who have survived do only what they know how to do. In Egypt, however, a powerless Pharaoh rules under the Gods, caught between duty, friendship, love, and ultimately the thirst for power."
That could be elaborated on, but feel free to use that example and do with it what you will!
Good luck with your story! It's very original!
Cheers
