As an American, I would like to know...?

...is drinking iced tea considered blasphemy? I only ask because I met some people from the U.K. who drink their beer warm. Since tea is a popular drink there, I was wondering if the beer rules applied to tea drinking. It's an absolute treat to drink iced tea, especially in the southern part of the U.S. where I reside. Thanks in advance for answering.

Update:

@Chum!: Not at all! I asked because that what the tourists from the U.K. told me.

I'm from and live in the UK. Iced Tea isn't really a thing here, i always thought it was a soft drink, you used to be able to buy it in bottles from shops, but i haven't seen them for aged. In the UK, Tea, the hot drink, is rather popular, usually consumed like this, a tea bag, hot water, sugar and milk. Which is why i don't really think of it to be like your Iced Tea. We drink tea in cups/mugs, you drink Iced Tea in a glass (i think). Your Iced Tea is kinda see-through, out tea isn't.

I've never actually tried Iced Tea, but i've heard good things, so i would really like to try it.

Also, i think the people you spoke to were maybe drunks, like; " we'll drink the beer no matter the temperature" if you know what i mean. We don't have extreme hot weather here in the UK like you do in the USA, which is why cold beer isn't THAT important to us. But if given the chance to choose, most WOULD choose cold. If beer is bought from a pub or club, it is always cold.

    Hope i helped :)

Americans aren't the only ones to drink iced tea; however, I hear it's not as popular in the UK as it is in the rest of Europe.

The vast majority of all tea consumed in the US is in iced form.

Also, cellar/cool temperature beer isn't the same as warm beer.
