Does anybody still use home phones?

I cant remember the last time I use d a land-line in a home.

Who still uses one and why?

    We have a home phone - I rarely use it (as I have my mobile) but if and when I do, its because of cheaper rates and free weekend and evening calls : ) Yay!

    Yes.

    1: Older people that grew up on phones, and if they have a cell phone, it is only for emergencies/convenience. Some people actually live at home.

    2: It generally is cheaper, at least if you use it quite a bit. Mobile phone provider seem to "get you".

    3: the nature of a land line supports extensions in home, for no little to extra ongoing costs.

    Absolutely....Comes in handy when your cell phone is dead, lost or broken, or for emergency calls. Also a wired landline works fine in a power failure too. The phone company has power backups.. I just use a Measured Rate line, with no frills... (About $5 a month...Lifeline.) For low income, or us seniors, most States have reduced rates like here in California, called Lifeline..
